The weather is finally warming up here in Yallingup (well, slightly!) and people are slowly but surely coming out of hibernation.
The beaches are looking stunning, the flowers are blooming, the bees are buzzing and the birds are singing!

Yummy Recipe
My vegetable garden is producing so many vegetables and herbs that I am able to feed the family and all the neighbours daily with a great vegetarian diet! Naturally every few days the kids say, “Mum can’t we get a big bistecca or pork ribs to put on the BBQ?”
This salad using farro is a great salad to use many vegetables and herbs out of the garden, ripe tomatoes, baby zucchinis, red capsicums, rocket, basil parsley and more. Farro is also a great substitute for Arborio rice to make a yummy risotto, fantastic in soups and processed into flour to use in breads.

A recent report in The Sunday Times Travel Magazine highlighted the never ending list of things to do in the Margaret River Wine region, and the wisdom of just " picking a patch" to do. The Yallingup area, where Wildwood Valley is situated, has more than enough to fill your time during your stay with us.
Yallingup Beach is not only good in summer - the adventure playground is a must for the youngsters, and who doesn't love a walk along a windswept beach? Then head back to Yallingup general Store for a coffee, cake or one of their famous burgers.

Blue Wren has a facelift!
Our gorgeous Blue Wren Cottage, which can sleep up to 8 guests, is perfect for families or friends. Over the summer, we worked very hard and renovated the exterior. The result is a beautiful new raised and roofed deck area. Along with the grassed area at the back, this is now the place for the perfect family holiday.

Philip Johnson’s Panforte recipe
We are absolutely spoiled for Panforte in Italy, and this recipe of Philip Johnson’s is one of the best I have ever tasted. You'll find it in his book Bistro. I'll be making a big batch this weekend - some for us, and some to give to friends and family. Panforte makes a lovely gift.
Panforte originated in the Tuscan town of Siena, a UNESCO world heritage site, not far from Cortona. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Italy - talk to me about recommendations of places to see, things to do and restaurants to dine at!

Margaret River Bubbles Tour
Last Saturday, the Wildwood Valley girls had a day out with Mark from Margaret River Bubbles Tour. Not all about the bubbles - plenty of opportunity to try lots of wines. We visited a variety of cellar doors - Mongrel Creek, Clairault, Brookwood, Credaro and House Of Cards - all very different. Included was a delicious lunch at Rustico. Finished off with chocolate from Gabriels. Recommended!

Winter is a fabulous time to bring your family for a holiday in the south west: there's a wealth of things to see and do without summer's crazy queues. While it's a treat to spend rainy days relaxing and reading the newspaper, with children you might not have that luxury! So we've compiled our tips for the best places to take kids in Yallingup, Dunsborough and Margaret River this winter.
Thai Grilled Pork and Beef Skewers
These skewers are a delicious snack we whipped up at some of the Thai Temptations cooking classes ahead of the 'main event' (our big lunch). They're tasty and fuss-free, and I've had so many people email to say that these are now a staple for their BBQs repertoire. The beauty of these skewers is that you can prepare everything in advance then pop them on the BBQ and they're ready in minutes.
